Brain-Computer Interface and Machine Learning Lab

The Brain-Computer Interface and Machine Learning Laboratory of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was established by Prof. Dongrui Wu in 2016. It currently includes 20+ doctoral and master students. The main research directions are brain-computer interfaces, machine learning, affective computing, computational intelligence, and smart healthcare. Its research is being supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China,  and several industrial partners.

Perspective Graduate Students

Students who are interested in brain-computer interfaces and/or machine learning research are welcome to study for doctoral or master’s degree in this laboratory. The laboratory usually accepts 1-2 doctoral students and 3 master students each year, selected from tens of self-recommendations. Perspective graduate students are encouraged to contact Prof. Dongrui Wu at drwu@hust.edu.cn as early as possible, e.g., by March 2024 for Fall 2025 enrollment. We prefer students who are hardworking and self-disciplined, with strong mathematics, programming, English and communication skills.
